I normally find myself gravitating towards individual pieces rather than designers and brands, but when I found this cat print graphic tee in Macy’s, I also completely fell in love with a new designer. I grabbed a bunch of stuff off the rack to try on, and when I got into the fitting room, I realized nearly everything I had gotten was by Eric and Lani. It was like this brand had distilled my own personal style into their clothing line.

Their clothing is filled with cute little unique details that just make each piece so special. For example, this top has chiffon sleeves, and the print is just perfectly thought out so I could easily tuck this in without breaking up the pattern. Everything in their catalog is the perfect balance between cute and quirky, and it’s so in line with my style. It was such a hard decision picking which of the pieces I’d tried on I wanted to buy.

To emphasize the quirkiness of this top, I paired it with these fun floral wedges. If you wanted something a little more subtle, it’d also work great with a neutral look.

Guess what? I ended up rebleaching my pants. I couldn’t take them all the way to white, but I got a light wash of denim that I don’t already have in my closet so I’m pretty happy with the way it came out. Bleaching is definitely a lot more work than I had initially expected.

Interestingly the bleaching process also seems to have loosened up the jeans a bit. Maybe it messed with the elastic fibers? Either way, I think they look really cute cuffed now, and they’ve already gotten a ton of wear. What do you guys think?

The Versatility of Button-Ups

A girl can never own too many button-ups. They’re a great way to elevate an ordinary outfit. I typically pair this skirt with a simple shirt, but this time I needed something a little more dressed up, and this outfit definitely fits the bill.

Tip : Take an outfit that you typically wear a plain t-shirt with, and switch it out with a button up of a matching color. The result will be a slightly different look, but a still perfectly matched pair.

You will notice that I’m wearing tights again, but don’t worry. The weather’s just fine and springy here in California. These were just taken when it was still a little colder and I just realized I hadn’t posted them yet.
